Hello, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of So This Is Love.
Today, I am joined by the very beautiful and balanced is the energy she gives me, Luna, not her real name, and she's here to talk to us about a beautiful, beautiful defining relationship in her life with a man that we are calling Adam, also not his real name.
Luna and Adam have been together for 10 years.
Actually, 11 years if we're counting this year, so let's say 10 and a half going to 11, and they dated for about half that time, five years of dating, five and a half years of marriage.
They have kids.
And the reason Luna wants to talk to us today about her happy ending, her beautiful marriage, her amazing relationship is because in her own words she says that she hears how people talk about relationships, talk about men, talk about women and the institution of marriage, and sometimes she gets the sense that there's a lot of negativity, there's a lot of criticism, there's a lot of suspicion about that entire institution and relationships in general.
And her story is a little bit different, and she feels that she wants to talk about what a successful marriage looks like, 'cause this has been her experience.
She wants to give an insight into what the good side looks like.
And moreover, something that she says that is unique to her relationship is that the idea of male and female tasks, expectations in a relationship, you know, that women are the caregivers and men are the providers.
She says that her relationship is different in that they've created their own rules.
They've created their own responsibilities and roles, and she wants to educate people that not everything is cast in stone despite the norms that exist in, you know, in our society, and y- you really can make things your own.
She calls her husband her safe space, and sometimes, by the way, she says sometimes she thinks, "I think this might be too good to be true." Because of the narratives that we have out there, sometimes she's trying to look for what could be...
Is there something I'm missing? And Adam is always there to be like, "Why is it that women when they find something good they have to try to find a way to look for a problem?" And, you know, I want Luna to tell us the story herself.
She's seated right across me ready.
Luna, welcome to So This Is Love.
How do you feel being here today?
Thank you so much.
I feel excited to share my story and can't wait to share more.
Okay.
So of course we've had a little chat about what your relationship has been like.
You know, I was even doing some digging and I'm like, did you go through any challenges? Like is it really as good as, as you're saying that it is or as you're painting it to be? Uh, but before we go There.
Of course, you're gonna tell us how you met, you and Adam, how you got here, and what are these things that you think contribute to what you call a healthy relationship and a happy marriage.
But who was Luna before she met Adam? What was your dating life like? Did you have previous partners? What were your beliefs and ideologies around relationships and marriage, maybe even your aspirations?
