Kevin GarlandGuestJuanHostUm, what does the IMAC president role look like? What, what does consume the most of your time in that position?

So for the most of the time is, um, lately it's been answering a lot of emails about our new website.

It used to be called, uh, mini-iac.org, and while that website still works, um, we wanted to re, rebrand that website and give it an easier name for people to find.

So we actually named it, uh, flyimac.org, and I think we also got flyimac.com, if I remember correctly.

Um, so w- with the new website launch, there's always a lot of questions on, like, "Hey, my account doesn't work," or, you know, "I need help logging in." So a lot of my time lately has been that, but it's been well worth it.

Um, besides that, you know, it's a lot of, we have monthly meetings, um, board meetings that we discuss, you know, future rules.

You know, one thing that we're trying to do is get, um, electric IMAC started.

Um, several people are out there trying it out, and it looks like it's working really well, but the next step is to try to make it an official IMAC event.
Is the goal with, uh, electric IMAC more, uh, to kind of, um, lower the barrier of entry with, like, more affordable, smaller models, or it's more about, like, promoting electric planes?
Mm-hmm

And then another one that people don't realize, it's getting-- fields are getting very hard to fly IMAC competitions at, um, especially up in the Northeast.

I think the Northeast, we kinda struggle the most with IMAC competitions because they're, they're losing fields kinda left and right, or they just have a very tight box you have to fly in.

And we're hoping that electric IMAC will kinda open it up so more people have access to it and can fly it more often in practice.

Because what people don't understand is like, yes, we have fields available to us, but competitors may not have fields at their home to practice, right? So if they can't practice, what's the point of showing up to an IMAC contest when they have zero practice kinda going into it? Um, a-and of course, you know, promoting electric aircraft, I mean, all the brands out there today, you know, between Extreme Flight, AJ Flex, you have Apex now, um, I-- there's several more out there I can't think of off the top of my head.

Um, they all offer like a good 60 to 70-inch size airframe that's like perfect for, you know, this E-IMAC class.
