With Michelle and Jamie both having gone to Auckland, they decided to do a lil special episode reminiscing about our GF in Auckland. Sounded like they were two different trips... Have a listen and…
No entities detected.
Well, Jamie, firstly for you, what was your, your travel into Auckland like, and how quickly did you end up booking your flights and everything to, to get to Auckland?
So I think, uh, we arrived back in Sydney from Newcastle at about, it was probably like 1:30.
Um, and I think we booked our flights in the first 20 minutes or so of arriving in Sydney, so that was great.
Um, [laughs] we had basically organized everything as soon as we got back from Newcastle.
It was really fun.
It reminds me a bit of...
Well, it was very different.
So like, um, years ago for the Perth Grand Final, I think we booked our flights at 4-0 up against Victory.
We're like, "You know what? It's probably safe now to book." Um, whereas Newcastle obviously is a bit different.
Um, I appreciate this time that the A-League actually announced the details of the match, like faster.
'Cause I remember the last several times that we've been to a Grand Final, they like published them like three days after the semifinals have happened, and you're just lost there for a few days.
I'm also very happy it was on a Saturday, uh, 'cause I was sick to death of traveling on a Sunday, so you basically have to fly back the same evening as the game, or at like 6:00 AM the next day.
But yeah, we booked really quickly.
It was really good.
I was very happy with how everything turned out.
How was your booking experience?
Well, a little bit more stressful because I wanted to do it through work.
Um, and so I sent an email to, uh, one of the travel agents at, um, that we use, and I had it ready on like Sunday so that it would like auto-send on the Monday morning at like 8:00 AM, so that way by 8:30 AM when he's like on his laptop, it would be like right there.
Um, he got back to me really quick, which was good.
Uh, sorted it all out.
So yeah, booked it on, on the Monday, the flights.
Um, and my flight, I pretty much said to him like, "I, I wanna get there..." Because I finish work at 5:30 on a Friday, there was no way I was gonna get that 7:00 PM, um, flight out of Sydney on the Friday night, which I really wanted to get.
Um, and if I had known that I had two hours that I could make up for at work, I would've like used that flight.
I would've taken that flight, um, finished work at 3:30 instead, and then just went, gone straight to the airport.
Um, so yeah, a bit frustrating.
