In this inspiring episode of SkillCast by LOSD, host Nurbanu Somani speaks with Dr Barbara Swinney, a retired school principal and assistant superintendent, founder of Deeper Women Lead Global, and women’s leadership and identity coach. Dr Swinney shares how she navigated divorce, demotion and a full-blown identity crisis before rediscovering who she was beyond her career. She explains why retirement can offer the freedom to pursue the vision within you, how women can transform their personal stories into legacy-level impact, and why your identity influences everything you do. In this conversation, discover: • How to rebuild your identity after a major life transition • Why retirement can be the beginning of your greatest chapter • How to reconnect with dreams you may have neglected • Why quiet reflection can reveal your purpose • How comparison on social media distracts you from your own calling • Why healing your story can help you create a meaningful legacy Dr Swinney reminds us that we are not here to live someone else’s vision or solve someone else’s problem. Sometimes, the answers we seek are already within us—we simply need to become quiet enough to hear them. What dream or vision would you pursue if nothing were holding you back?
