When I hit record on the very first episode of The Six Figure Brand® Podcast back in February of 2025, I was craving a creative outlet. I wanted a space where I could share my thoughts on branding…
So why hit pause on something that I love? Here's why.
I love this podcast.
It is still, like, as I'm recording this, one of my favorite things that I get to do every week.
But loving something does not mean that it's a fit for every season forever.
Producing a podcast is really time intensive.
I do a good amount of research for every episode and I have to outline, record, edit, write show notes, create promotional content, manage the scheduling of guest interviews.
I'm doing this all on my own.
I don't have a podcast manager.
And it's a lot.
Now that I have done 88 episodes, I feel like I have a really solid body of work, if you will.
And I feel comfortable giving myself permission to take a little step back so that I don't burn out on podcasting.
I just am feeling like I need to give myself a little bit of space to think more big picture and more strategically about what role I want this podcast to play in the future of my business.
As I said in the intro, this decision feels really aligned with a lot of the things that I tell you to do on this podcast about playing the long game, building your business super intentionally and making decisions because they are right for you, not because they're what's expected or what society or the online business world tells us that we need to do.
Society and the online business world tells us do not take a break from podcasting because whenever you come back, it's going to be really, really hard to get traction again.
And I know that going into this, and I still think it's the right decision for me.
Anyway, I could just power through and keep publishing something every Tuesday, but I I never, ever, ever, ever want to be creating content for the sake of creating content.
I want to create content because I have something really meaningful to say and because it serves a purpose in my business and in the business of everyone who's listening to the show.
So right now, giving myself a little space to breathe and to think and regroup feels like the right decision for me.
