When we find our way into letting go of all of those mythical ideas of separation, what we encounter is first thisness, which is that essential presence of But when we find ourselves there, we find ourselves in the presence of maybe the most powerful force in the universe, beyond the universe, the infinite power of love.
I shared here before that I find love a very intimidating topic to explore because the word immediately evokes so many different things for so many different people.
But what I want to... allow for us to lean into today is an idea of essential love the essence of love and in that would be romantic love and friend love and animal love and you know stranger love and sexual love and romantic love and all of those sorts of things will be inside of this larger umbrella of essential love um There's this teacher, Nisargadatta, no, I didn't say that right at all.

Getting to know these qualities and learning to trust and live from them is truly the heart of the path.
Gradually, we realize that this awake, tender awareness is more who we are than any story we've been believing about ourselves.
Rather than a human on a spiritual path, we are a spirit, formless loving presence, discovering itself through a human incarnation.
One of my turning points with love came in 1985 when I did a meditation retreat.
I was practicing intensive loving kindness meditation, offering phrases of wishing well to myself and others all day long.
Like, may I be happy? May you be happy? As I practiced at one point, it felt as though I came to a threshold.
