well all this week i have been analyzing dr jason feng's take on which hormones cause you to gain weight which hormones cause you to lose weight and why he says it has nothing to do with calories while i agree with a lot of his science there are certain things i don't agree with in terms of his conclusions and we're going to go over the four lesser known hormones and how they impact weight gain or weight loss other than just insulin and to some degree cortisol.

We're going to talk about the other hormones that are much more important that you cannot overlook.

So you're either gonna be producing insulin or glucagon to control your blood sugar.

Glucagon is also responsible for causing your body to produce certain fat burning enzymes.

These enzymes will take the food you eat, prevent it from going into your fat cells and then will also pull the fat that's in your fat cells out so it goes into the blood and you can use it as fuel this is very important obviously if you're following along this means glucagon is a vital fat burning hormone now Most people think the only way to get glucagon to get released is to fast or to starve yourself so that your blood sugar dips really low.

The problem with this is it also causes your cortisol to skyrocket, which causes all these other implications like it throws your other hormones out of balance, it can cause gut issues, digestive issues, it can hurt your thyroid, and it can hurt your metabolism.

Well, there's easier ways to trigger the glucagon rather than having to starve yourself.

Certain foods eaten in certain combinations at certain times of day will cause your body to produce the glucagon.

So now, even when you're eating a meal, that specific meal will cause glucagon to be released, which will carry all of the fat-burning benefits without any of the side effects that most people would create saying that you have to fast or starve yourself.

And this is why I always talk about eating the right food at the right time in the right combination.

So I'm sure people are like, well, what are these combinations? Well, how do I do it? This is all individualized.

It depends on what diets you've done before, how much muscle you have, how much body fat you have.

If you're trying to gain muscle, all of these are going to impact what the right formula is for you.
