Now, they had been helping their parents with the supermarket shopping, picking all the things out of the aisles and getting the right food and the fruit and the veggies and everything that they needed.
"Uh, okay," said the kids.
"What's next?" "Um, I think that's all for today.
I think we're pretty much ready to go home." Just then, as they were standing about to leave the supermarket, they saw a purple fuzzy creature run past the front of the shop.
"What was that?" said Jack.
"I don't know," said Darcy.
"I'll just finish paying." "Okay." So the kids race to the door to see what was going on, and it ran past again.
"What was that?" said Darcy.
"I don't know," said Audrey.
And they watched and watched, and then, "Ah," dink, pff.
It fell right in front of them.
"Bl- bl- bl- oh, hello," it said.
"Who are you?" said Jack.
"Well, my name is the Pim Pim.
What is your name?" "Um, I'm Jack, and I'm Audrey," said Audrey, "and this is Darcy." "Oh, hello, Jack, Audrey, and Darcy.
Um, okay, yes, you will do." "We will do for what?" "I need help," said Pim Pim.
"Help with what?" said Jack.
"Well, I have been at my house for a very long time, pretty much my entire life, and I have never had one of those things that people keep in cages or on leashes or sometimes they let them roam around the house." "Um, you mean a pet?" said Jack.
"Yes, that is the thing, a pet, and I have decided that I have not had the proper experience of my whole entire life until I get a pet.
And so I am at the supermarket trying to get a pet." "Um, you don't get pets from the supermarket," said Audrey.
"Oh, dear.
Well, that probably explains it." "Well, what type of pet are you planning on getting?" said Jack.
"Uh, there's different types?" "Yeah, there's all kinds of different types," said Jack.
