A few weeks ago I told you Bitcoin made me quietly stop worrying about income, and I called that a mistake. This time it's different. I've just turned down roughly £150,000 a year and I don't think…

In fact, I'm already doing a job and I still don't know what my salary is going to be, but I just turned down something in the region of 150 grand a year to do this new job, which I'll tell you about in a bit.

Now, I know that probably sounds mad and I know it sounds like it completely contradicts what I said a few weeks ago about Bitcoin not being an income strategy and me getting that wrong.

Stick with me on this one because I actually think this is the whole point of everything I bang on about in this podcast and Bitcoin giving you more purpose in your life rather than focusing on creating more and more income and growing your assets the whole time.

So let me just lay out what was actually on the table because I want you to feel the size of what I'm turning down here, not just hear me say a number because I don't really care about talking about money.

And I know my listeners, I know a lot of you guys and a lot of you in touch with me all the time.

do pretty okay they earn decent money but we all feel like even if you earn very well you're still getting a little bit behind a property stock market same for your future you still feel like everything's getting more expensive the whole time so i actually think the numbers in this podcast may not be surprising i'm sure most of you earn a lot more than me So the first job I got offered recently was a job managing a small team doing borehole drilling as part of a bigger company down in Cornwall.

So that would involve moving to Cornwall, which was kind of crazy, but I was sort of up for it.

I'm 40 years old now, so this is the kind of people that listen to this podcast, so just level with me.

and down there that's a proper proper salary in cornwall very comfortable life you can rent a nice big house for two grand a month you'd be you'd be pretty set and then if you've got some other income going on as well you're great that's a lot of money in cornwall and it's a really interesting industry for me it's very adjacent to plumbing what they do is they drill 50 60 80 meters down into the ground they pump water out from the water table and then they purify it and clean it and then you can have your own drinking water supply and also if you're a farmer and you're feeding thousands of cattle you can have access to more water for a much lower price so anyway i've been finding that really interesting i feel like there will potentially be a lot of conflict over access to water pardon me in the future and so that was quite an interesting job and it's a team of sort of eight or nine people who complete these jobs and i was offered a job to manage that team so i was kind of up for that but i didn't really want to move to cornwall it's quite a big change for us so more recently i got approached to go back into plumbing with a big firm 2400 pounds a week as the base i'm going to do maths live i think that's about 124 000 um 125 grand a year as the base before anything else and then on top of that they were being you get offered to do a little bit of weekend work one evening a week um and then that's 180 pounds an hour so that's a decent bit of ched per hour and even you're not going mad with this you do one evening a week and one saturday a month nine hours on a saturday five hours in one evening that's still another couple and a half grand a month.

And the reason why that's interesting for you guys, my listeners, because you know that in a few podcasts ago, I said all about how Bitcoin is not an income strategy.

I was like, wow, I don't really need to work anymore because I've made so much money out of Bitcoin, that it's not really worth working for £180 an hour anymore because it's just gone up so much.
