Should I Care About... My Business Feeling Hard?

This week on Should I Care? we (Sophie Griffiths & Ruthie Walmsley) get into the idea that if your business feels hard, you must be doing it wrong, & why we think it's one of the least helpful stories doing the rounds online. Somewhere between the laptop-by-the-pool content of a few years ago & the "I only work school hours & still make Pilates" version we're all being shown now, most of us picked up the belief that a business done right should feel easy. So when it feels heavy, or sticky, or just a lot, it's very tempting to decide something's broken & go looking for a different plan. Sophie is 9 years in, with ads, recurring revenue & support on the client side, & she's still building a brand new workshop & 5-day offer from scratch this autumn. Ruthie built a done-for-you business in the middle of lockdown & is now deep in the bit between that & a group programme that pays its way. Plus our Launch Diaries update: 70 sign-ups, about 35 sign-ups, & the Instagram posts neither of us can make ourselves write. **In this episode:** - Sophie's "if a post doesn't feel good, it won't do well" theory, right 9 times out of 10, & what Ruthie thinks it's missing - What changed at home last year so Sophie could keep her 7am gym class, & the pressure that came with it - The £14k done-for-you months Ruthie built in lockdown, & the day Tone came home & a slow career break turned into working till 8pm - Bloody Good Story Club at 11 members & £60 a month, & the maths that gets very sweary once you ask how many people it would need - Why low ticket offers are the hungriest of the lot, & the "which poison are we picking" question Sophie asks before anyone chooses a model New episodes every Tuesday.
