“Spiritual Warfare” – Rabbi Steve Weiler (08/29/2026)

You know, I'm not sure there's a major difference between prayer and spiritual warfare except for the intensity of it.

Because when we're asking God to do something for us, it's prayer.

When we're seeking to agree with his will on things, it's prayer.

It's prayer.

when we're seeking to defeat the enemy, Hasatan, the devil, that's spiritual warfare.

So it's interesting because spiritual warfare is really when we oppose the things of Hasatan, Satan.

That's what spiritual warfare is.

It's pretty simple.

There's nothing hokey pokey about it.

Now, I understand some believers are somewhat mistaken about what spiritual warfare is.

Some people think that spiritual warfare means that everything happens because of the enemy, everything bad.

And so the entire day and night they spend binding up and cursing the enemy.

I don't think God's calling us to do that.

On the other hand, there's some people that think that spiritual warfare is just fantasy.

It's some sort of emotional thing that believers have dreamed up.

And I don't think God would buy that one either.

So we have to

understand that.

that we are called to spiritual warfare.

And I'm going to borrow from myself.

I don't know if you've been involved in the devotionals that have been put out each night or for each day.

But I put one out or two out, I think, on spiritual warfare.

So I have a couple thoughts along with those thoughts, which I'll talk about a little.

But I want you to remember one thing.

If we see people doing something wrong that is a counterfeit to what we believe, it gives us more understanding that our belief is true because nobody wants to counterfeit something that isn't real.
