Today, uh, we're going to talk about the heart, because if we're obedient without the heart, it means nothing.

So as much as obedience is important, without your heart, giving your heart to the Lord, it doesn't mean anything.

So you've gotta know that it's important, and, uh, I wish I would steal William's verbiage from his parsha when he said, uh, "The heart..." W- what did-- Where, where's William? He used to...

How- what did you use? You said it was the, the what of knowledge? How did you phrase- The seat of knowledge.

Now, normally we just think of it as emotions, but really, uh, from a biblical point of view, the brain was not actually something known to man in, in biblical times.

And so it makes sense that Proverbs 4:23 says, "Guard your heart diligently, for from it flows the springs of life." So if you can picture the, the spring flowing, which always I love that thought.

If you've ever been to a spring, especially by a mountain and, and you-- the water is gurgling down and it's freezing cold and, you know, you just sense the life of it.

Well, here the springs of life are, are really connected to the emotions and the knowledge, uh, both, and that is c- that is why I believe we are to diligently guard our heart.

What does it mean to guard our heart? Well, I think as much as we can, we want to keep it safe from the world Uh, in, in, simply put, we, we don't want the garbage of the world to infiltrate our heart.
