Emily ConnorsHostSo for us in Canada, um, when we look at aging, we very much value aging in place, meaning people want to age in their homes and stay there, and I think that's ideally what all of us would want for ourselves when we're dealing with, uh, you know, ailments or things happening in our lives.
This includes the need for family support, for support from friends, support from neighbors, and some provincial supports.
So speaking specifically in Ontario, Ontario Health at Home is a very valuable resource for folks, uh, that will help s- assist them in supporting, uh, them with physiotherapy needs in their home, occupational therapy needs in their home, whether they need PSW or nursing support, light housekeeping, things of that nature.

Well, so e- especially individuals living, wanting to remain in their home longer, right, what are different ways that people who are aging find that support that they need in Canada?
One comment that I do wanna make is when, when I hear myself talk about those things, I think of Principle Seven, and you're looking at do we want to really focus on all the medical needs of the person, right? And I think when we talk about resident-centered, person-centered care, we don't want to focus on those medical aspects.
And so when we talk about that, it's important to look at the entire individual and, and their needs that are kind of happening.
So resources for the individual are, again, in Ontario through Ontario Health at Home, and they'd have to reach out and make those con- those connections, whether it's them doing it on their own or family members doing it on their behalf to try to get some of those resources in place.
And some of the resources are limited as far as number of hours you can have in a week and what supports are available, uh, for you, and they also need to look at their individual, uh, housing.
Uh, are they in an apartment? Are they in a house? Are they in a condo? Are there stairs? All of those things, uh, that will be barriers to them when looking at how they can provide those supports in their own home.
