It was exciting to hear about his days, what was going on, because they were building a porch.

That just means something to us because you can be in the background, and it is so important because the ones in the foreground, somebody has to do the work on the backside.

And I enjoy being that person, making some of the details happen that they don't have to worry about.

And it was just exciting to hear about that trip because not only did the men actually do something and they are building something, paving the way for others.

It was just fun to see the friendships and the bonding and hear about what took place.

Just within the team that served, you know, you can't handpick a mission team.

But building within that relationship of the team that went, and there were seven or eight of us that went.

from the mission trips that I've been on and the friendships that I've developed over those trips have been some of the most precious relationships that I've got.

I've always found this to be a fascinating phenomenon, which is you go on a mission trip sometimes with people that you really don't know.

And then you spend the first few conversations trying to recall what their name is.

The rest of us are, you know, we're trying to figure out what their name is without being embarrassed that we had forgotten, which we shouldn't be because they forgot our name, too, if I know the way this works.
