And now, since we're already discussing it, it's time for a little mental health checkup.
This last week was tough, let me tell you.
You would think that having the camping trip, I'd be all rested and ready for work.
Yeah, that lasted about a day.
Last Friday, which is my Monday because I work Friday through Tuesday, was a rough day.
So here's a little background.
A few months ago, work gave my supervisor at the station permission to hire another part-timer on the understanding that they would cover our breaks, but that when there was overlap, the extra person would go and help out inside the store, do shopping cart returns, etc., that type of thing.
Yeah, that's no problem.
Well, on Friday, I started getting bitched at because they're saying, we never sent in the second person to help out.
But we did.
And other people saw him helping out, but apparently not the person who was now chewing my ass out.
And I say that knowing I'm exaggerating it a bit.
The guy I'm talking to is just naturally a gruff person.
For him, that's just how he talks.
For someone like me, who only needs a disappointed look thrown their way, it felt like I was getting ripped a new one.
Then, to top it all off, the night ended just splendidly.
So, last month, we had our semi-annual inventory of the store, and it was horrible.
There was so much missing product.
One of the solutions was, they now have a manager watching every employee throw out their trash because they are convinced that some of our products must be getting thrown out.
Stuff that is damaged has to get scanned out of inventory first.
But they are sure that employees must be back there tossing all sorts of shit out without the proper inventory procedures being done.
That now, a manager gets to watch us.
Well, I'm back there throwing out my trash and some liquid from one of the bags splashes one of my favorite managers in the fucking face.
She's, of course, freaking out because, yeah, this is gas station trash.
It's disgusting.
