Last week, we-- The, the talk was around the, the topic of right view, and I, I wanted to continue the discussion a little bit, uh, moving on to the, the next part of the topic that fits in really well with right view, which would be right intention.
So, uh, for those of you who might not be aware, in some of the, the most basic teachings of Buddhism, we have the Four Noble Truths, uh, which is the, the teachings around the understanding of, of suffering, um, and the causes of suffering, the path to the cessation of suffering.
And part of that path is the, is the Eightfold Path, which can be broken into eight different topics, and even those are usually split into three kind of general categories, the first of which is, uh, wisdom.
The, so the, the aspects of the path that pertain to trying to cultivate wisdom are, uh, having right view, which is what we talked about last week, and having right intention.
So this is almost like a part two of the overall topic of trying to develop wisdom.
Last week, in the discussion around view, we talked about the different types of truths, the objective truths, subjective truths, intersubjective truths.
These were ideas that I shared coming from the book Nexus by Noah Yuval Harari, which isn't a Buddhist book, but I connected the concepts and ideas of, of truths with, with right view and how understanding these different types of truth can help us to navigate life more skillfully.
So shifting the focus to intention, right intention, the second component of, uh, of wisdom on the Buddhist path, Eightfold Path.
