Monarch, S2: Cause and Effect

[laughs] I had someone ask and I'm like, "Oh, Secrets of Television." So, uh, let me give you a recap of what happens in the first episode of the season, called Cause and Effect.

Kong attacks and Keiko wakes up on the Monarch ship.

Monsters on Skull Island start going crazy while Keiko experiences aftereffects from being in Axis Mundi.

Brenda tries to tempt May to work for Apex, and Cate wants to go back for Shaw and asks May to help.

Kitaro, Cate, Hiroshi, and May leave the ship to go to the island, and Keiko is almost squished by a sleeping Kong.

Oh.

They get back to the capsule to go back to Axis Mundi and fix it up to call Shaw back, but Verdugo and Tim arrive to stop them.

We flash back to Chile, 1957.

Not, uh, the stew-like product from Texas, but the country-

[laughs]

... of Chile [laughs] where...

Hmm, like that sounds good.

Yeah.

Where Lee, Bill and Keiko are hunting monsters.

Bill causes, of course, in- the trouble in the bar after he sees a mysterious creature on display.

Keiko and Shaw flirt.

The bartender dances with Randa.

She tells them the locals worship this creature and shows them the cave paintings that they've s- got secreted away in exchange for them leaving.

Back with older Shaw, he's into, uh, Axis Mundi, and faces down a pig monster, as you do.

A Titan awakes, and Shaw runs back to the pod, gets attacked by a bug thing that was like the one that he s- they saw in Chile as he's traveling back, but arrives safely.

He's bit by it and shows signs of poisoning, and then Kong smashes the pod and Verdugo gets killed.

But the bug thing, the big bug thing with the tentacles, escapes into the water.
