I'm always wanting couples to talk about what's really going on, not necessarily the surface stuff.
And so if I could get you guys not to argue, but to talk about, you know, how you're feeling.
So Jenny, instead of announcing, I'm mad at you because you didn't get the paper towels, Jenny should say, I'm feeling really neglected or left out.
I feel forgotten because I was expecting the paper towels quickly and they never came.
Most couples want to argue about the circumstances why we needed the paper towels.
I asked you for the paper towels and you went away and I'm waiting and I'm trying to do other things.
And you're anxious already because the sink's backing up and you're feeling maybe a little overwhelmed.
And what you guys might remember, I've told you guys a lot of times that there's a root emotion associated with anger.
You were angry because it felt like your husband didn't appreciate you or was thinking about you.
And so a lot of couples will argue back and forth about the facts of the case instead of getting into that emotional level.
