All right if you can turn to Joshua chapter 1 and this morning I'm just going to start with reading a ton of scripture and I've titled this message Joshua a signpost to Jesus.

I want to go through certain little sections of scripture that actually point directly to the foreshadowing of the coming of Jesus the Messiah.

I feel like the Lord, when we were reading it, that he was saying, hey, this is pointing to Jesus.

And we've been studying the book of Joshua and how he was such an amazing man of obedience.

He was an amazing servant to Moses for 38 years after he'd seen the promised land.

He sat by his side until it was time for him to rise up and take his the Israelites, the chosen people of God, over from the wilderness to the promised land.

And if you have a look, if you zoom out and see what Jesus actually did, he's done all of that in a similar way, but more of a spiritual realm.

He spiritually defeated them through the death, burial, and resurrection of His power, his name now carries that authority that Joshua had to do in the natural.

His name, just the name of Jesus Christ carries that authority that Joshua had to do through the natural in the killing of all the clans and the tribes back in the day.

Different verses, so I'll be just skipping through a ton of stuff that I've got highlighted in my Bible, and then I'm going to get into one of the greatest battles that Joshua went into, and that was the battle of five kings, when he actually said to the son, stand still.

And it says there was no other day like that day where a man told and demanded the son to stand still that that ever happened.
