Everybody wants to know, "Where do I get the money? How do I fund this?" And three, "How do I sell it? How do I make it successful?" [laughs]

I think those are the things we teach at SCORE, and I think you probably have some expertise in that area.

I'm gonna use slightly different words, but those are fundamentally the three mistakes that I see in almost every business client that I have at SCORE.

The words I would use are, "I have an idea." I get clients that have an idea, but they went from idea to execution.

They skipped over all that critical part about planning, building a model that can work.

It's just they, because they have the idea, they go to execution, and they, their success rate drops precipitously if they don't know how to build the rest of the plan to make it work.

Is there a format to a roadmap to success? How do we write down a plan for our business?

SCORE has examples of templates of that on the website, is a great starting point.

That the structure of the business plan, it almost doesn't matter what industry you're in, but the business plan, a financial forecast, profit and loss forecast, and some sort of an action calendar are, to me, the fundamental three things that you have to have in order to go someplace.

And when I meet clients and they have an idea, nine times out of 10 they do not have a plan.
