How Triple H & I Broke Into The Wrestling Business Together...

All right, so I'm at Kowalski's for a couple years now, and...

We get this young kid comes in from New Hampshire, good body, big, pretty long, broad hair and all that stuff.

And his name is Paul.

And Kowalski is going to make him terrorizing.

And he's going to be Kowalski's new champion.

As time goes on, Paul and I start working together at the school, training together and stuff.

And we're fortunate enough to where the two of us became kind of like teacher's pets, I guess.

I don't know.

Walter would pull the two of us to the side all the time, and he would talk to us, tell us different things.

What do you call it? Paul was Walter's heavyweight champion, and I was the light heavyweight champion.

So, uh, and we would always, so we always had a match on his shows and he'd always take care of us.

But Walter was kind of, he's a little crazy.

And, uh, like he would tell us these long stories.

He'd grab us by the arm and pull us to the side.

And he'd tell us this long story.

Then we wouldn't even know what the hell he was talking about.

And then he'd say something like, that's why you can't trust the boys.

And he'd walk away.

And me and Paul would look at each other like, what the fuck was that all about? But Walter would actually get in the ring with us and wrestle with us, which he wasn't doing with anyone else.

So we were getting a lot out of it, you know.

And Walter had approached us and told us that he thought maybe it was time for us to go somewhere else.

And he said that Gary Lawler still ran Memphis Territory and that we should try to see if we can get down there that he could set something up through WWE, you know.

So, and one of us, and I'm not sure which one, it might have been Walter, decided that we should go down there as a tag team so that we could split the expenses, right? So the light heavyweight title and the heavyweight title were identical.

So Walter actually booked us in a match as his tag team champions, which he didn't have tag team champions, and had us so that we could have it on film to show Lawler us defending the belts and all that, you know, and set up something with Lawler.

And a week before we were supposed to meet with Lawler, Paul got a job in WCW.
