Now, at first, that doesn't make a lot of sense, does it? We usually think of discipline as restriction.

Discipline means getting up when you'd rather sleep, making the call when you'd rather send that email, doing the workout when you'd rather sit on the couch, and following the process when you'd rather do it your own way.

So how can something that feels restrictive actually create freedom? Well, it's because discipline gives you the control over the things that matter.

And in sales, in leadership, and even in life, the more control you have over your actions, the more freedom you create in your results.

If you only prospect when you feel motivated, your pipeline becomes unpredictable.

If you only exercise when you feel like it, your health becomes dependent on your mood.

If you only work on your goals when you're inspired, your progress becomes inconsistent.

Real freedom comes from having the discipline to do what needs to be done, even when you don't feel like it.
