Like so many of us, I come from a pretty difficult beginning and I found this sense of connection and purpose and spirit work and energy work.

And even when I wasn't around people, I found a comfort in being with spirit and knowing that there was something more that I felt connected to.

And why was that so important to you? Because I work with a lot of people that they're so disconnected from that.

Yeah, I would credit this probably to my teachers and like mentors and influences that I've had around me and showing me a real light and soft side of spirit where it's felt comforting.

And often when we talk about spirituality, like I know I worked for years in addiction and there's a lot of focus on reconnecting to spirit through some of the programs that are offered.

And there's also a lot of resistance to that very topic because of our histories with religion specifically and religion and spirituality to me are two very different things.

So for my younger years, I definitely flailed about and would claim to be atheist and not have any real connection.

And I think that when we meet people who have a resistance there, it's an indication that more safety is needed.

So what I notice is that when I'm able to feel secure and feel safe, I feel freer to experiment and practice.

What kind of things have you done for yourself to build that connection with your inner world?

So being in circle, I know that we mentioned Lee and I was in circle with Lee and some other friends.

And she was my first real teacher to help me feel comfortable and safe and connecting to people.

connecting to spirit and connecting to others, I found a really safe space in circles with these other like-minded people.
