But before we can rightly understand lust, we have to understand what it's a corruption of, right? It's hard to recognize counterfeit money until you've handled the real thing.

So we have to start where the Bible starts, with the purpose and design of sex and sexual desire itself.

And men, I wanna be clear right out of the gate this morning, sexual desire itself is not the enemy.

And if you grew up in a church that [clears throat] only whispered about sex or only talk- talked about it in a negative form, there's kind of a joke that goes around that says, you know, many churches basically say, "Sex is bad, sex is gross, so save it for the one you love." Well, that's not what the Bible teaches about sex.

Sexual desire, in God's design, is meant to lead a man into sexual union with his wife.

The man had just finished naming all the animals on the planet and hadn't found a single suitable companion to him.

Then God b- creates the woman and brings the woman before him, and he starts spitting poetry right away.

He says, "This at last is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh." In other words, he says, "I like her.

I like her body." She [laughs] she was obviously a serious upgrade from the aardvark he'd seen earlier.

It says, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife.

And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed." That's Genesis 2:24-25.
