And, you know, one thing I was thinking when I was watching this game before we kind of talk about what happened tonight is that this season so far, Rutgers is 1-3.
But this is really a tale of two seasons.
And I did a little bit of – a little bit of research on this.
If you look at the first six quarters of the season, which would be the UMass game and the first half of Boston College, versus the last eight quarters, which would be USC and Howard, here's what you get.
In the first six quarters of the season, Rutgers scored 28 points.
Last eight quarters, 93 points.
How many points did they allow in the first six quarters? 57.
Last eight quarters, 57.
So the point differential in the first six quarters was minus 29.
Now it's plus 36.
And then when you look at total offensive yards through the first six quarters, 730.
Last eight quarters, 1,245.
And then when you look at turnovers committed in the first six quarters, it's eight.
Last eight quarters, it's six.
Takeaways in the first six quarters, three.
Last eight quarters, five.
So what you're seeing here is the emergence of a different Rutgers team.
Howard, 58.
So the Rutgers record really doesn't tell the whole story here.
This is a team that is getting better, getting better quickly, and is going to potentially pose some problems for those Michigan Wolverines and, dare I say, Indiana Hoosiers.
They have to face the Hoosiers next week at home.
And the last two weeks, I would say the USC game was able to bring some sort of life back into the locker room.
