So I guess I have to give a little bit of background about my mindset lately because otherwise it's not gonna make any sense at all.
... uh, yeah, so I guess for our listeners, they don't really know, um, you do, but I've been in school for about a year, a little bit more, uh, because I got laid off and I decided that I'm gonna try and change careers, and so I took a programming course.
And, and so th- it's kinda good, or I thought it was gonna be kinda good because I thought, "Oh, well it'll be great because you get to focus on one thing at a time." But the thing is it goes by so fast that you, like, I find that it's hard to think that you've actually absorbed anything.
At the end of this course you do an internship and it's 10 weeks, and you basically go work in industry and, um, you do, like, some real programming.
I'm unsure of my situation, but also unsure of myself because I don't really know what to do with what I have now.
But the thing is that I was kind of an expert, and, like, I miss the feeling of being an expert.
I guess I have to relate this to running, right? So let's say you're in a training group and, you know, you've been training with, like, your three or four people for three months, and you're all going to a race, and-
And now, like, you know, you've all been training together, and so the, the rest of you are kinda like, "Well, you know, we've got a good shot at making this happen." And it's that kind of-
... feeling of like I've a good shot of figuring this out, like, that I haven't had in over a year now.
Like, I just feel like I'm not good at anything, and this is kind of my mental state right now.
The author, uh, which we've interviewed in the past but we don't have on the podcast today-
... she has also changed careers and I guess come from a career that, you know, she was good at, and then become her-
Um, and so although I've read it cover to cover, I, I have to say that maybe what I need to do right now is go back to some of the exercises.
Maybe this book, 31 Days, um, although it's running-related, will have some reflection, some quick reflection, and, you know, they're one-day exercises.
Maybe we'll see some things as we go through that, you know, you can use as tools to help you think.
