Meet your new Australian Record holder in the marathon!!!! Haftu Strintzos ran 2:06:20 on the Gold Coast last Sunday to break Andy Buchanan's previous record by two seconds. In case you missed it…
Haftu StrintzosGuestElise BeacomHostSo if you could relive one race day, uh, from your career so far, would it be the Marugame race? Would that be the one where you're like, "Yes, this is, this is one that really clicked for me"?

Um, but just being, like, just, just focused, just, you know, s- when you're completely in tune with your body and you know exactly, you know, when the body is ready to race and ready to go.

Yeah, that was the feeling in Japan, and all I had to do was just show up on the start line and just, you know, go with the flow, go with the front guys.

I mean, at the end of the day, the reality is, like, a lot of things have to go right on the day.

Um, the experiences and the knowledge that you gain, uh, from years of having done this, and also the course and the conditions on the day obviously affect the performance.

in total I think they had about 30 guys, uh, J- or just under that were sub 61 minutes.
