And today I'm going to, uh, kind of go down the path of, uh, mistakes that I see of, uh, you know, over these many, many years of, uh, doing this business.

I've been in the, uh, investment advisory business now for 41-- actually almost 42 years, getting ready to be 42 years this November.

And, uh, you know, I see a lot of the same things, you know, when it comes to, um, you know, the mistakes people make and the ones that do well and what they've been able to do.

I'm gonna start with, uh, income, uh, and cash flow, then I'm gonna move into protecting what you have.

And then I'm gonna do some, uh, wind-ups, uh, that will have to do with, you know, waiting and timing and, you know, all that kind of stuff that, that people end up doing.

But today if you're listening, uh, you can also listen to previous shows, roymatlockjr.com and the Roy Matlock Jr.

Money and Business Hour, which is our podcast, and we're getting a lot of feedback from that.

And also, I want you to be thinking about, uh, the world today and, uh, people are out there, uh, they're fighting all these things.

You know, we got inflation, you know, we got worry, we got all these different kind of things.

So what if we can figure out a way to, uh, take the money worry off the table? That would be good.

And so I meet with people and, uh, you know, it's funny how, uh, I'll think back about stories and, uh, I remember, uh, going in this guy's house one day, and this was when I was really kind of new, and this is back in the VCR tape days for all of you guys.

Uh, and I noticed-- I walked in, and this guy had the biggest collection that I'd ever seen of VCR tapes.

He had it, like, I mean, his house, he had this big wall that had every kind of every movie you could ever imagine.

Okay, this guy had bought the tape, you know, when you could rent it back then, and he had bought them all.

And, uh, we s- I started looking around and then, you know, I saw, um, you know, when I pulled in, it was like a new car.

And I always used to, if I went into a middle-class kind of neighborhood, middle upper, um, or, or upper middle class, first thing I would do is I'm walking in, and me being a financial advisor, I used to go to their homes all the time.

And, uh, so I would go in the home, and if I pulled in and there were a couple new cars, I'm like, "Oh boy, these, these people are broke." And so this time they had a couple new cars, and the guy had probably five hundred video tapes.

And we do the pre-- we meet, and we talk and, and, and of course, guess what? The guy was completely in debt.

He had invested all of his income as he thought he was investing into something that had no value, that was going down in value.
