So to begin, I wanted to quickly go back over the three different types of ADHD.
First, we have the inattentive type, and that's what we're going to be talking mostly about today.
So individuals with the inattentive type of ADHD are typically labeled as the daydreamers.
It's more often seen in girls, but I do also see it in boys that I work with as well.
And what happens in this type of ADHD is that it gets missed often because the hyperactivity piece.
So thinking about one thing and all of a sudden they're thinking about a hundred other things, which is why it's sometimes hard to catch it.
And it's also why often it's labeled as anxiety first, because when you have that kind of creative, curious, wandering mind, it can also lead you down some pretty anxious paths.
And so this I find as well in women, women who are getting diagnosed later in life, myself included, they often had this type of inattentive ADHD as well.
And often they first get diagnosed with anxiety multiple times before they figure out what's actually going on.
