What do you think has driven the recent bounce in the price of Monash IVF shares? Thanks.
Number one, of course, after their very high profile, very embarrassing and troubling errors, they kind of, I think, couldn't have been more at a sentiment low.
I mean, obviously, there could have been more issues to emerge, but we're now at a bit of a gap between the last one, at least the last public one, and where we are now.
So I think, as I said, sentiment has bottomed and I think obviously that has an impact as well on its brand damage, significant brand damage they would have experienced.
But obviously time heals all wounds and the more time that passes, the more that the potential addressable market forgets about it.
So I think that certainly in the most recent update, profit update, there were signs of a bottoming in the business, which is great.
Also, of course, there was the delayed audit for the accounts as well, which wouldn't have helped, especially given their recent history.
I think, again, that just kind of removes a little bit of a sentiment overhang.
And so I guess we're not that far now, you know, in the low 80s, below the highest offer.
We do tend to kind of see with, you know, takeover premiums that you know boards really shouldn't be entertaining them without at least a kind of a 30% premium to as you know control takeover bid and yet this one now is looking like it would be as I said you know about a 10% premium to where we are now so I think the board Looks like they've covered themselves, at least for today, but I think it kind of stands out.
This is an asset that still, I think, stands out as an opportunistic buy for a private equity bidder.
There's still obviously... a lot of potential trust to regain from its client base.
And therefore, obviously, there's still a lot of potential upside, I would say, in this business.
But obviously, if the cycle has turned for them and they're beginning to kind of regain their previous footing, then I think there remains upside.
