Join Matt and Luke for our honest take on the Gallardo and 458, and as we rank the Italian sports/supercars we have driven so far.
So, um, we, we took out the Gallardo first, and, uh, it was the LP 550-2, which means it was the two-wheel drive model.
It had the E-Gear transmission.
And you got to drive it first.
The, uh, transmission was very jerky at slow speeds, and clunky, and the overall handling was not very confidence-inspiring due to being only two-wheel drive.
Yeah, I, I felt that way too, and it wasn't, it wasn't a fun two-wheel drive experience.
Like, like, in the 86, it gets a little squirrely, but you can handle it.
This thing, you're going fast, you don't wanna be squirrely at all.
Yeah.
On more than one occasion, I thought I was gonna be flung off the road and hit a tree.
So I was very, very cautious, even on a slow corner.
And as much as I thought it'd be really cool to cruise in one of these through town, driving it through town, it felt like driving a tractor.
Like, something very agricultural.
Yes.
Um, I've driven heavy equipment, and you have to let the pedals out slowly, and it's jerky, and this kinda reminded me of farm equipment.
You pointed out, too, like, as soon as we brought it to your house, that the seats looked really familiar.
We have a, uh, 2002, uh, Turbo Beetle with the color concept package, and I got out of the Lamborghini and opened the door on the Beetle and went back and forth between them, and it's basically the same interior, which was kind of cool.
[laughs]
[laughs] It was kinda funny.
She thought that was cool.
She thought visually it was very striking.
But it wasn't that much fun to ride in.
No.
I took my spouse for a ride, like, two miles up the highway, and before we even got halfway back, it was, "Can I just get out?" And I'm like, "Not here.
