As we talk about David's life today, we're gonna talk about two things.

So the calling from his life and the warning from his life.

And so a lot of people know King David, you know, they know David and Goliath's story, and we're just gonna kinda start from the beginning when he was a young teenager, and we're gonna talk all the way through really the end of his reign as king in, uh, a short period of time, but really talk through it.

And so that way you can hear the, the, uh, the...

How he stayed in the battle, and how when he stepped away from the battle, how sin not just happened, but it multiplied.

And one of the most compelling- ... people in scripture is King David.

It says, you know, he was a, a shepherd boy chosen by God.

He is a warrior who d- defeated a literal giant, and he's a king who united a nation.

Um, and God called David really for a purpose long before anyone saw it.

And so I just wanted to say, like, if you know that God has given you a vision, God has promised you something, or you know that God has created you for something...

I remember, uh, being, uh, in the military, uh, got picked up to be a pilot, super pumped, like my dream, childhood dream come true.

Get into the training, and my neck and back are like, "Nope, you can't do it." So medically retire out, and I go from the fighter jet world that I had been in for six years to the, uh, pest control business.

And, and of all things, I worked at Cook's Pest Control, which, Justin, why don't you go ahead and sing the jingle for everybody?

Yep, and everybody, uh, at the start of it, it's like, "Lookie, lookie, lookie.

Here comes Cookie." And I'm like, "Oh my God." Every time I told any of my friends or family where I had got a job at, uh, they started singing the stupid jingle.

And I remember it was just like a...

It was really hard for me to go from, like, one of the coolest jobs in the world to, like, killing bugs.

And I remember being really frustrated.

I knew God had called me into ministry, but I couldn't get a job at the church at the time.

There were no openings, and this and that.

It was just, like, all this, like, friction.

And in that time, I remember God just pausing me and telling me like, "Hey, you get to go into people's houses and businesses every day where they feel safe.

It's not church where they got a wall up, and you get to minister to them, and you get to pray with them, and you get to encourage them, and you're missing the whole point of why I have you in this job." And it just really opened up my eyes, but I just wanted to share that because there's a lot of you that are somewhere that you don't think that God has called you to.

Like, maybe God has called you to do something, but it's not yet.
