[PREVIEW] UTD 388 – Sex Hotels & Piano Drama

I didn't tell you this last week because I forgot.

Obviously, last time I was here, I stayed at the Standard and they were so fucking rude.

I'm never going back there.

So I was like, well, no, I'm not staying there.

And I don't want to stay in an Airbnb because I think Airbnbs in London are really depressing and they won't have air con.

So I was like, it's a hotel and I won't have to worry about feeding myself or anything like that.

You know, I'll just be in a place that I will be able to like access food and water without thinking about it.

But a friend of mine was doing the PR for the rival hotel of the standard.

And he had said to me, oh, well, when you come back, just let me know.

And then you can stay in my hotel for free as a secret shopper because it will really help me to understand how they're doing

things.

So I was like, okay, fine.

And then he just didn't really say anything.

And it was getting quite close to the wire.

And I was like, I don't really want to nag him.

So I'll just book somewhere else and whatever.

And then the day before I came back, he texted me being like, they don't have their license yet.

Like, I'm so sorry, blah, blah, blah.

And I was like, it's okay.

But I've already sorted something else out.

Having said that, the options were quite slim.

So I'm not going to say the name of it because I'm still staying there.

But I wanted it to be in town because I am too, I'm just, I'm not ready to be in places where people actually live in London.

Like it's too soon, you know? Whereas like this still feels like working holiday slash tour.

Whereas like if I go and sit in the Shillelagh in Stoke Newington, I'll have to die because that's my old life, you know? And I just, it's too close.
