In the course of their competitive years from 1973 to 1988, they played 80 matches between them.
I recently watched a documentary that just came out called The Final Set where it chronicled their relationship, their competing on the court and their unlikely friendship that has now led to them supporting each other in cancer clinics and in one another's homes through this together.
I can think of times in my life, recount unlikely friendships with brothers that I thought I would never click with who became dear friends.
I can think of ministry scenarios that were heartbreaking and yet were the very things that the Lord used to bring monumental spiritual transformation in my life, in my family.
That's this theme as we come to the books of Ruth and Esther, that nothing is ever wasted.
As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, Psalm 23, God's up to something.
