You noticed that when the water was disturbed, the movement, the wind, began to pick back up very subtly and you began to stop drifting backwards.
Not advancing, but just halting that backwards pull.
So, I will now open the scene back up to all of you.
What are you doing? Getting
out of the water.
Getting out of the water at a rate of knots.
Yes, I think we'll all be grabbing for some rigging or some kind of netting down the side of the ship.
I'm going to test my observation by grabbing a nearby barrel or something the size of all but not too heavy that I can throw overboard.

Absolutely.
So while the rest of them are scrabbling up onto the other side of the ship, basically...
Not
necessarily paying attention to the people climbing up the side.
But you would definitely hear the noises as they basically begin to swim, the splashing as they begin to move up the side of the ship.
and that forward motion which you noticed sorry not forward motion the halting of backwards motion is still happening and as they climb up onto the side of the ship and the water settles still again you then notice that there is that backwards drag starts to pick up you take a barrel it's it's a relatively small lightweight barrel it's empty for the sake of this and you toss it overboard and it falls, it hits the water with a slap and there is a moment where the water is disturbed.
The barrel sinks slightly, it bobs back up and as it bobs up and down you can see the ripples spreading out.
And as this disturbance happens, again, you feel that very, very, very slight breeze upon your face, tussling your hair heroically as the backwards motion again stops and halts.
The sails kind of flurry at the same time, don't they?
Not flurry so much.
This isn't a big gust of wind.
This is just a subtle breeze.
You do see they do catch the wind slightly.
