Nate James | 99 To Beat S2 Interview

Oh, goodness, bro.

So, okay.

So, uh, for those of you watching, uh, this was one of those interesting moments where they had to pause a game midway through.

And I remember, uh, when we paused, I was standing next to Dakota, um, and a handful of other people, and I was...

We were just kind of whispering.

I was like, "Dude, have you, like, seen anybody's stuff and hid it?" And he leaned over and he was like, "Yeah, me and six other people so far have found Mel's and hid it." And I was sitting there thinking like, "Okay, interesting.

I've had a handful of interactions with her, and I've kind of felt a little, like, eh, I don't, I don't, I don't super get along with this person." And so I had already saved Havon.

Uh, I ended up saving Nikita and one or two other people.

But when it got down to the final four people, I came across Mel's jersey, and I stuffed that thing in a box, and I threw the box across the room.

I didn't think I was gonna do that, to be perfectly honest with you.

I pretty much planned on just giving most anybody their jersey.

Once it got down to the final four, I was like, "I ca- I can't do that." And so to be perfectly honest with you, I probably would have done the same with any of the other names.

The only one I for sure wouldn't have was Jason, because he and I were really good friends by that point.

Um, and so with, with Mel, I just knew.

I was good friends with Dr. Limitless.

I knew the things she was saying about him on the sidelines.

I knew how she was saying she was gonna try to screw him over in a game.

And so in my mind it was like, if that's the energy you wanna bring, that's also the energy you're gonna attract.

You know what I'm saying? I believe you attract the energy that you put out into the world.

And so Havon, I saved that dude 'cause I knew he would save me in an instant if he saw my stuff, you know? No question.

With Mel, it was like, "Nah, shawty's not gonna do that.

As a matter of fact, she's gonna do the opposite." So, uh, when it was her versus Jason towards the end there, I mean, listen, I'm not trying to say she's a bad person.

This is, this is reality television.

We're all there for different reasons, and she apologized afterwards for messing with him.

But it did kind of show what she was there for, the way that she ended that game.
