Hey readers! Whether it’s your first time through the world of Prythian or it’s been a while since you read ACOTAR (same 😅), this episode is here to get you caught up! We’re walking through the…
hey everyone welcome back to the re-readable podcast i'm kg and i'm sami and today we have a pretty exciting episode for you so excited we are so close to akatar 6 coming out
finally after
years of waiting it is fine time almost time we don't have a cover we don't have a name little name i have no blur no blur no synopsis no nothing just a release day and we know it's coming so we at least know we can begin prep you know
yes
so that is what we are here for today we're calling this ACOTAR for beginners that's right so this is going to be a review yeah or a review good idea for some of us yeah that's a good idea good good thing to say so we are going to specifically be diving in into each and every book in the ACOTAR series we're going to do a full debrief in the coming weeks before the sixth one comes out today though we felt like there's so much to the world that it's almost going to be very hard to get into that fully right in each episode
we didn't want to get to our episode breakdowns and then have to be like and this is what this character is and this is where this court's at and these are what these creatures are right so we're to go over some like highlight reels so that way when we get to akatar and akamath and akawar yes and so on that we can really just talk about the books with you guys
exactly because there's so many characters and so much that's going on that if you're like us and you haven't read them in quite a few years yeah then we just all kind of need a little a little refresh So we thought we would make these episodes for you as well in case you've never read them and you're considering it.
I'm going to convince you.
That's right.
Or you did read them years ago.
And it's been a minute.
And you're not planning to do a reread.
Or you are and you want to follow along and hear us talk about it.
That's kind of we wanted to make these to where they would fit anybody's wants.
Yeah.
Before this new book comes out.
We're going to try our best not to give away too many spoilers.
Yeah.
However, it has been out for 10 years, so you guys do remember that.
Have some grace.
Yeah.
But this episode, we'll try not to do very spoilery.
Too much.
Yeah.
But moving forward.
When we do breakdowns.
When we do a breakdown, that will literally be completely full of spoilers.
Like, literally.
We will be talking about the book.
We'll try
and warn you, too.
Yeah.
But those will be breaking down each book individually to talk about them.
so we're ready for the sixth book so know that yeah be
prepared
we're trying to give fair warning yeah did i miss anything i don't think so but today i'm excited this is so fun we have not read these in so long that we were prepping and there were things i forgot oh yeah
I'm so excited.
And I was also, like, as we were prepping, I was like, man, I don't want to have to get into all of this, like, on every episode.
Like, we need to do this now so that way we can just, like, literally, like, shot for shot go through these books with everybody.
Exactly.
So I'm so excited because this is also, like, the like nerdy fact-finding stuff on like exactly to preface that like the whole series which is going to be really fun
we're also going to talk about in each episode breakdown not today but each excuse me each book breakdown um potentially how they tie into other series as well because sarah j mass does have a collective universe so she has three series you're watching on youtube they're right here
behind me
They're three separate series, but all interconnect.
And some in a big way.
Yeah.
And so we're going to even try in some of our episodes to talk about those specifically.
And to give some theories.
Yeah, to give theories and to recall your mind of this did happen in this other series.
Don't forget, be on the lookout for this.
Yeah.
Because if you're like us, we are not planning to reread everything.
We're only rereading ACOTAR.
We only got so many hours.
We don't have enough time for that.
No, we don't have enough time.
But we're trying to also walk in where we, like, I don't want to be completely blind.
Like, I don't want to miss something that's obvious just because I haven't read the books in forever.
So we're trying to prep you guys for that as well.
So hopefully this helps.
Hopefully this is a refresher.
Sorry.
No, it needed to be said.
And hopefully if you guys don't need a refresher, but you need convincing, hopefully this will also convince you.
That's right.
I've said it before.
I think KG said it before.
This was more or less my gateway into fantasy.
Absolutely.
And there are ways to make it closed door.
There's not very much spice in the first book.
It does progressively get more as the series goes on, as you can imagine.
But we've got the chapters on our guide online.
So if you want to look at that
podcast show notes.
yep perfect
yeah so if you want to make it closed door it's totally you're totally capable of doing that but it is like the gateway into fantasy like you guys can see fantasy books going all the way up my shelves up here and there's so many more that i've read that aren't up there and it's all because it started with akatar and honestly that's how our book club got started like that's just it was the start of everything really so if you haven't read it yet let's convince let's convince let's take it away sammy so i'm gonna give you just like a quick blurb of like the whole akatar series and then we'll break down like sort of the synopsis of the books um for um the akatar series so it starts with a court of thorns and roses which you guys can see if you're looking on youtube behind me we start with a court of thorns and roses then a court of mist and fury then a court of wings and ruin a court of i'm running down my list of frost and starlight and then a court of silver flames so they're all right here are little highlighters they do look like highlighters yep they're they're giving highlighter they are With this, it is a high-stakes fantasy, deeply emotional fantasy romance that transitions from a dark fairy tale retelling into a massive politically complex war for survival of a magical continent.
