Episode 881 - Dave Wasn't Wrong

Well, let's do space first off, just because we always, you know, Flight 14 went orbital.

The orbit.

Yes.

That happened while we were not recording.

Yeah.

But they only had two out of the three engines work.

Oops.

So they were able to get to orbit.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Because the Starship is designed to be able to be one engine down and still work.

But they decided not to do all six orbits.

So they got to orbit.

They burned into orbit.

They released the Starlink V3 satellites, 26 of them, I think.

And then after a bit, they decided, hey, you know, we'll cut it short here because they've got a they had a secondary zone in the Pacific where they could deorbit and splash down without problem.

So they went down in that one and 26 minutes later, splash down.

No problem in the Pacific Ocean.

So cool.

Did it did it go boom in the ocean? It went boom in the ocean.

But they didn't want to try and bring it back because it was down an engine.

Well, Starship 13 – or was it – no, Starship 40, which was on Flight 13, the one that actually survived, they were kind of surprised that it actually survived.

It didn't explode.

It didn't explode, yeah.

Yeah.
