Lately, I have been thinking a lot about what it means to raise my kids in a world that is changing so fast I can't even fathom it.
Genevieve King has spent more than 25 years thinking about what children need to become grounded, capable, and connected adults.
She studied environmental journalism, she led the Missoula Sustainable Business Council, and then she took all of these experiences and founded Origins Education.
It's a nature-based preschool that combines academics with outdoor learning, mindfulness, emotional development, and ecological literacy.
She also created the internationally award-winning Origins curriculum as a way to bring this educational approach to schools and families all over the world.
We talk about feeling grounded in the earth and our intuition about how things are changing and how we want them to be.
And we also talk about what all of that really looks like for little kids, and why, when everything begins to feel overwhelming, sometimes the best thing we can do is just go outside.
