Well, you heard the percussion mix intro of one of Elton's best love songs and probably one of the best known entrees too.
Sadly, we lost BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2's Steve Wright in 2024, and you will remember me dedicating our episode that month to his memory.
On the show tonight is Steve's producer, Jonathan Ruffell, who has just published a witty memoir, Steve Wright in the Afternoon, How We Changed British Radio Forever, Probably.
And now Elton appears on the front cover because Steve endlessly played the song in May 1990 on his Radio 1 show.
And the following month, the record company decided to re-release it and it scaled number one for five weeks during the World Cup season.
So as we indulge in the US, Canada and Mexico World Cup soccer tournament currently on, it seems only fitting to recount the story of how three days after hitting number one, Elton paid Steve Wright a visit in his show to say thank you.
We will be finding out how the show was put together and Jonathan will reveal some of the things which the BBC would not allow to be broadcast.
