Dennis Shepp - 2026 Quadra Alumni Weekend

Send us Fan Mail This year was Dennis Shepp’s first Quadra Alumni event, thankfully we found time to sit down and record an episode.  Dennis is from Regina Saskatchewan, RCSCC Impregnable #43, and he first attended HMCS Quadra in 1971 as a Two Weekie! Dennis has vivid memories of his first summer at Quadra including the Jetty Jump and singing Heart of Oak in the water with his fellow trainees.  He returned the following summer to take part in the first ever (1972) Medical Assistant Course at HMCS Quadra.  Dennis was quick to turn his new knowledge towards the St. John’s Ambulance program and rapidly became an instructor in his hometown and home Corps.   An OJT position in the Sick Bay was where he spent his summer in 1973. In 1978, Dennis joined the Naval Reserve Unit in Regina (HMCS Queen) specifically to set up the new Sick Bay.  His civilian career included joining the Regina Police Service where he continued to share his medical training with numerous police officers.  Dennis moved into the private sector after policing which offered him great opportunities around the world.  He furthered his education and obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration which led him to being hired by Saudi Aramco as a full-time security advisor. Dennis calls himself an “aviation enthusiast” and loves to attend airshows in his free time and chat with young people in the field.  At the 100th Anniversary of Canada’s Naval Reserve, Dennis got a chance to speak with Captain(N) Alsgard and reminisce about his MedA Course in 1972.
