I was puffy to the point that I hardly recognized my face when I looked in the mirror.
By 2:00 PM, I'd hit a wall so hard that I'd have to either nap or push through with a lot more caffeine.
I was drinking around 1,000 milligrams of caffeine every single day and still had a very hard time staying awake for more than two to three hours at a time.
I planned beach days and then canceled them because I just didn't have the energy and I didn't want to be in a bathing suit.
This also made me feel really guilty because I didn't feel like I was doing enough fun activities with my kids during the summer.
I didn't want to be around people, and I really didn't even feel like leaving my house.

But the next year was worse, and the following year, which was last year, was physically the worst year of my life.
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's 10 years ago, so I'm no stranger to navigating life with health issues.
I had several doctor's appointments every single month, and I was being tested for new autoimmune diseases.
Thankfully, those all came back negative, but they ended up giving me no answers to what was going wrong.
Because my joints hurt so bad, they tried putting me on medications for joint pain, which did not help.
And my stomach, [laughs] my stomach was so bloated and in so much pain, and I was so nauseous, I was afraid to leave my house.
