Listening back to those conversations, I realized that they all left me thinking about this question of how do we make good decisions when we never really know what's going to happen? And that is the reality of risk.

And if you've ever had imposter experiences, you know that they can make every decision feel bigger or riskier than it probably is.

As a psychologist and researcher, I don't think that confidence comes from having all of the answers.

And that's why one question that I have almost had to become a reflex is, what perspective can I see? Now, this is probably why I am so drawn to art and poetry and museums alongside psychology journals.

And I think this is what good research does too, because it doesn't give us certainty.
