Often parents will say, well, let us work it out and maybe then we'll tell the kids.

what ends up happening then is the kids find out and the parents say well we're okay so you know you don't need to worry about it but then the kids say well but i'm not okay because this is this is something that happened and this is something that's difficult for me to process as well to see my father or my mother in this new light which is why i always say that the sooner that you can tell particularly your adult children what's going on the the more you're going to be able to preserve that relationship and the more you're going to be able to heal as a family.

In today's episode, I'm excited to have back on the program with us Melissa Maycumber to explore the often overlooked impact of parental infidelity on adult children.
Melissa shares her own personal journey of discovering her parents' affair as a teenager and how it shaped her well into her adulthood.
Together, we discuss how secrecy, family roles, and betrayal affect trust, relationships, and even self-expression later in life.
Melissa also introduces her online program called Authenticity After Family Betrayal, which offers hope and community to adult children still carrying this hidden pain.
