Let Wisdom Breathe

Proverbs 8:6“Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right.”Today’s Episode: Let Wisdom BreatheHave you ever heard somebody read a whole paragraph like punctuation personally offended them?They blow past every comma, run every stop sign and hit the period completely out of breath.You’re sitting there thinking, “Breathe! Please…breathe!”Sometimes that’s how we live.Rushing through conversations. Listening just long enough to reload our response. Scrolling past words before they get a chance to settle.We leave no room for wisdom to breathe.Then Proverbs eight six says in the New International Version:“Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right.”Did you catch the first word?Listen.Before Wisdom asks us to speak, Wisdom asks us to stop.Her lips open, but our ears have to open too.Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.”Nature isn’t stuck in slow motion or rushing in go motion. Nature moves in grow motion.Roots take their time. Fruit shows up when it’s ready.Maybe wisdom works like that. Give truth time to take root before you demand fruit.Let it finish the sentence.Let it challenge what you assumed.Literacy helps us sound the words out. Wisdom helps us live the words out.But let me put a guardrail right here: letting Wisdom breathe doesn’t mean treating every thought floating through your head like it came from God.Not every inner voice is wisdom.If it contradicts God’s character or God’s Word, it isn’t a fresh revelation. It’s just noise wearing church clothes.The wisdom speaking in Proverbs says trustworthy things. When she opens her mouth, what is right comes out.So before you send that hot text—breathe.Before you repeat what you haven’t verified—breathe.Before you make a permanent decision in a temporary emotion—breathe.Slow down long enough to ask, “Is this true? Is this right? Does this sound like the wisdom of God?”Silence isn’t always empty. Sometimes it’s where wisdom finally finishes talking.Then, when it’s time for you to speak, don’t just add more noise.Open your lips and give somebody something trustworthy.Something healing.Something right.Let wisdom breathe in you—and then let wisdom breathe through you.🔥 REMEMBERWisdom needs an open ear before it uses an open mouth.🙏🏽 PRAYERGod, quiet my rush and teach me to hear wisdom.🎯 TODAY’S CHALLENGERead Proverbs eight six slowly three times.
