He spent weeks in a coma, years rebuilding his life, and was told he'd never sail again.

Years later, he became the first triple amputee to sail solo and unsupported across the Pacific Ocean.

We talk about identity, resilience, purpose, forgiveness, addiction, family, rebuilding after something traumatic happens, and what happens when you refuse to let other people define your limits.

You honestly made me look at things in, in a different way, particularly we talk about being responsible for other people's happiness at one stage, and it's something I've never really thought that much about, but, um, [smacks lips] great part of the conversation.
