it is, of course, from Bernard Herrmann's score of Alfred Hitchcock's film Vertigo, which you and I had the great pleasure of seeing at ASTA yesterday with a full cinema of festival goers and it was the 70mm print, no less, and it was fantastic.
We had local legend Kate Fitzpatrick welcome documentarian Alexander O'Philip to the stage, and he shared a really special message from Kim and He talked about how she'd really hoped to make Myth this year but couldn't, which is very fair.
I thought it was a really beautiful moment where he was, even when Kate was doing the introduction, like announcing, introing Alexander onto the stage, and you could see him filming it from behind.
And then when he actually came on and chatted and then he did the, I just want to do a recording of everyone saying we love you, Kim.
To see people coming out for this film, I know it was at, you know, a film festival event but still it is a film from 1958 and everyone to line up and to go in and to get off their couches and not be watching streaming services for a change.
it was like the weather was amazing i drove what would that be i'm bad at maths an hour and a half basically like round trip to go there and it was worth it yeah um and i i just love um the fandom that was so apparent from alex like he just spoke so tender about the film and of course his own documentary kim novak's Vertigo, which we will discuss in a moment, was screened at the festival.
