Barbara Freitas-DanielsHostSo those challenges that we're trying to solve right now, can you tell us a little bit more about them?

Yeah, it's a multifaceted set of challenges because one of the things I'll always talk about when we talk about the power grid is that it's not just a technology solution that we need.

When you look at the electricity sector, it spans policy, which of course touches on the regulatory environment, spans legal, spans economics, financials, the technology itself, business.

And it's exciting to be thinking, how do you, particularly as Hitachi Energy, how do you take a technology set and get it usable out in a complex system like that?

So the hardware itself, of course, has to plug into an existing grid we've built up over more than 100 years.

So there's that sort of more obvious element of it, as well as all of the regulations and different considerations to make that fit within the standards environment.

We need to optimize it because there's a lot of demand that we're seeing on the grid today.

And it's helping people to reframe the problem about what we've made these investments over the past hundred years.
Do you find that urgency is ever more urgent now? Lack of a better word.
