EP75 Behind the Lines: EMDR Therapy in Action; A Conversation with Matt Wesson

Welcome to this week's episode of Pondering Play and Therapy and this week my guest is Matt Wesson and he is the former president of the EMDR Association UK and an EMDR Europe Senior Accredited Trainer and Consultant.

He has 30 years experience in the field of mental health in numerous different settings, including defence, NHS, industry and private practice.

He specialises in trauma and PTSD through his 21 years experience in the military, both in the UK and in combat zones abroad, including Iraq and Afghanistan.

and he's been using EMDR therapy within the clinical work for 25 years.

He's also accredited with the BABCP, I'll have to check with Matt what that is, with a particular interest in schema therapy.

Matt has been published in several peer-reviewed journals on EMDR and CBT and has spoken at international events.

He represents EMDR therapy at the National Centre NHS England Talk Therapies Expert Advisory Group.

Gosh, that's a mouthful.

And regularly advises NHS Scotland and NHS England on matters around EMDR provision and supervision.

Clinically, Matthew currently works as an NHS forensic service in both a specialist outpatients clinic and in a Category B prison.
