One thing that's near and dear to my heart is the fact that there's items that are not going to waste or going to landfills, some absolutely brand new items that people are being able to pass along to their neighbors.

What's been most surprising about organizing this rummage sale with the help of an incredible team has been the generosity of the entire Oak Ridge community, not just members of St. Thomas Church on Berkshire Alley Road, but ultimately members from throughout Oak Ridge and Jefferson who have heard about the sale and have said, you know what, we would love to donate some items.

It's exciting that people who I've never met have been getting involved and stepping forward.

When we started this, it was myself and two other women, Jeannie Stroud, and Karen Flood, both who are members of Oak Ridge, but also St. Thomas Parish.

And we have had over 40 people volunteer their time and energy to help make this happen in some way or some fashion.

It really makes my heart warm to just know that as a community, we can come together.

It's an in-person event at St. Thomas Parish Social Hall, which is a large gym-type-sized space.

Anyone who might want to do some treasure hunting, anyone who might want to potentially find a brand new item, this is for anyone who wants to have some fun connecting with their neighbors.

There are toys, there are tools, there's garden items, there's holiday items, there's clothes, jewelry, household items, art, decor, craft items.
